Our Principles
These aren't slogans on a wall. They're the standards we enforce through checklists, QA gates, leadership expectations, and how we treat every person on our team.
Craft & Quality — How We Build
The non-negotiable standards behind every piece of work that carries our name.
Measure Twice. Cut Once.
Pre-start plan review required before layout and cuts. Layout double-checks and assumptions flagged early — before they become costly mistakes.
Do It Right the First Time.
Follow manufacturer specs, code, and best practices. No shortcuts that compromise durability or safety. If it's not acceptable in our own home, it doesn't ship.
Quality Over Speed.
QA time is scheduled work, not optional. Leads are evaluated on quality and predictability — not just pace.
Long-Term Thinking.
Build for years, not inspections. Hidden work — framing, sealing, flashing, prep — is treated as critical, not rushed through.
Pride in the Invisible.
Plumb, square, and true matters. If it's behind drywall, it still carries our name. We build like the walls are made of glass.
Own the Outcome.
Issues are fixed, not explained away. Responsibility is shared, not deflected. We stand behind every piece of work that leaves our hands.
Continuous Improvement.
Weekly improvement loops identify top defects and prevention measures. Training and method upgrades are expected, not optional.
Our Standards in Practice
Principles are only worth as much as the details that carry them out. These pages are where our standards get specific — right down to the boards we pick and the holes we drill.
It All Starts With the Lumber
How we hand-pick the straightest, kiln-dried boards — and use engineered LVL and LSL studs in critical areas like shower and cabinet walls — so drywall, trim, doors, cabinets, and flooring all come out true.
Lumber QualityThe Details Most Builders Skip
Smallest-possible holes for wiring and plumbing, laser-straight penetrations, fasteners set snug instead of stripped, and floors built not to squeak — the field standards behind the finish.
Build StandardsPeople & Crew — How We Treat Our Team
Better-treated crews deliver better work. These principles make that real.
Crew Members Share in Success
Real skin in the game at every level. Crew Leads earn a quarterly share of their crew's gross margin, Division Directors share in the whole division's, and crew members earn a direct share of their crew's margin too — not just the lead. Leads even earn a royalty for developing a crew member into their own Crew Lead, so growing your people pays. Everyone shares in annual profit sharing in good years. When the company wins, the crew wins.
Lead a Trade Division
We're seeking Master-licensed Qualified Individuals to launch and lead our HVAC and Electrical divisions. Crew Leads and Division Directors manage a dedicated P&L, develop crews, and earn cash profit and gross-margin sharing based on what they create. These are employee leadership roles; they do not include stock, equity, or ownership in the company or division.
Two-Deep Leadership
We never run a licensed specialty on a single Master. By building redundancy — a second Master ready to step in — we protect the division, the work, and your time off. Nobody is trapped as the irreplaceable bottleneck.
Day 1 Benefits — No Tiers
Health, dental, vision, life, and disability start on Day 1 for every employee — helper to Master, no waiting period and no second-class status. The same package competes head-to-head with the defense and shipyard sector.
Accountability Mentality
Autonomy with accountability. Every crew member is trusted to make decisions and expected to stand behind the results.
Invest in Leaders
Reliable trucks, proper tools, and leadership pathways that are earned through performance. We build leaders, not just buildings.
Stability Matters
Predictable scheduling and long-term support. We don't hire people just to lay them off when a project ends.
Respect is Non-Negotiable
No yelling, no belittling — ever. Direct, professional feedback delivered with respect. This is policy, not a suggestion.
Growth from Within
Apprenticeship pathways and internal promotion over outside replacement. We develop talent instead of discarding it.
Fair Pay for Honest Work
Transparent compensation growth with no exploitation. Base pay sits in the top 25% — and once margin sharing, profit sharing, and Day 1 benefits are counted, total compensation lands in the top 10%. Quality people deserve quality compensation.
Safety is Part of Respect
Stop-work authority is real, not theoretical. PPE is provided. Protecting our people is how we show we value them.
Loyalty Goes Both Ways
We learn from mistakes instead of firing over them. We offer careers, not gigs — and we expect the same commitment in return.
Division Leadership & Profit Sharing
We're seeking Master-licensed Qualified Individuals (QIs) to launch and lead our HVAC and Electrical divisions.
Virginia licenses the business through a designated Qualified Individual. For our licensed specialties, the Trade Lead is both the field leader and the regulatory key — and we structure the role so that the Masters who lead a division run a real P&L and share in the margin they create.
Manage a Real P&L
Crew Leads manage a semi-autonomous crew with a dedicated profit and loss. Division Directors manage the entire division's performance. These are W-2 employee leadership roles with cash profit sharing, not equity or legal ownership.
Share the Margin
10% of your crew's collected, adjusted gross margin as a Crew Lead (your crew shares in it too), or 5% of the division's as a Director — subject to quality, safety, collections, cash-reserve, and company-profit gates so craftsmanship and healthy growth both pay.
