Our Story
Why we started — and what we set out to fix.
O’Toole Construction was founded in 2026 in Hampton Roads, Virginia with a straightforward conviction: residential construction deserves better than what most builders are getting from their trade partners.
Too many projects suffer from the same problems — unreliable subcontractors who ghost mid-schedule, inconsistent quality that creates expensive callbacks, and a jobsite culture where shortcuts are tolerated and people are treated as disposable. We saw it firsthand, and we decided to build a company that eliminates those problems at the root.
The answer wasn’t complicated. It was in-house crews instead of a revolving door of unknown subs. Real quality standards enforced through checklists and QA gates — not just talked about. Treating people right — paying well, providing benefits from Day 1, and building a culture where respect isn’t optional. When you invest in your people and hold everyone to the same high bar, the work speaks for itself.
