We Invest in Local Trade Companies

Growth capital for Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads contractors

If you run an HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, or windows and siding company doing $1M to $5M a year and you want to grow it, we want to talk. We bring the trucks, the people, the shop, the marketing, and the builder relationships. You keep running the company.

Who We’re Looking For

A working trade business with a real book of customers and an owner who wants to build something bigger than a one-truck-per-year growth curve.

01

$1M – $5M in annual revenue

Sustained for at least the last two years. We are looking for a business that already works, not a startup.

02

One of five trades

HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, or windows and siding. Multi-trade shops are welcome.

03

Based in Hampton Roads

Virginia Beach first, then Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Portsmouth, and the Peninsula. We invest where we can show up.

04

An owner who wants to grow, not exit

You keep running the company and keep a meaningful stake. We bring capital and operating help, not a replacement.

05

Licensed and in good standing

A Virginia DPOR Class A or B contractor license, current insurance, and clean books we can review under NDA.

06

Room to scale

More demand than you can staff, a service area you have not reached, or a builder channel you have not had the capital to pursue.

Five Trades

Each of these is a replacement-cycle trade in a market full of homes that are due. Multi-trade shops are especially welcome.

HVAC

Residential and light-commercial heating and air. Service, replacement, and maintenance-agreement books are the strongest fit.

Plumbing

Service and repair, water heaters, repipes, and drain work. A plumbing book paired with HVAC is the most valuable combination in the market.

Electrical

Residential service, panel and generator work, and light-commercial. Strongest alongside an HVAC or plumbing book, or with a federal and Navy niche.

Roofing

Residential replacement and repair with W-2 or long-tenured crews. Retail replacement demand here is steady and age-driven, not storm-driven.

Windows & Siding

Replacement windows, siding, and exterior doors. We already carry a window and siding catalog, so this is where we bring the most hands-on help.

What We Bring

Capital is the easy part. Most trade companies stall at $2M to $5M because the owner is the dispatcher, the estimator, the recruiter, and the marketing department. We take those weights off.

Vehicles and equipment

Trucks, vans, lifts, and the tools each new crew needs on day one. We buy or lease the assets so your cash stays in the business.

Hiring and recruiting

We run a W-2, top-quartile-pay hiring model already. We bring that playbook, the job postings, and the screening to fill your trucks.

A commercial facility

When you outgrow the garage, we purchase the shop, warehouse, or yard and lease it to the company on terms that work for both sides.

Advertising budget and help

We fund the marketing and run it with you: search, maps, reviews, direct mail, and a website built to convert, not just to look good.

Builder, GC, and sub partnerships

We are a builder. We open doors to homebuilders, general contractors, and other subs so your work is not dependent on one channel.

Systems and back office

Dispatch and field software, bookkeeping discipline, and the reporting a company needs before any serious buyer will look at it.

Why Virginia Beach, Why Now

Hampton Roads is a replacement market. Most of the housing was built in the 1970s and 1980s, which puts hundreds of thousands of homes inside the window for a new roof, a new heat pump, a repipe, and new windows and siding. The contractor base that serves them is fragmented into small shops. Well-run companies that scale here have room to grow, and buyers are already paying attention to this market.

How It Works

Four steps, no pressure, and nothing shared until an NDA is signed.

  1. 1

    Introductory call

Thirty minutes. You tell us about the business and what growth looks like to you. We tell you plainly whether it is a fit.

  2. 2

    NDA and financial review

We sign a mutual NDA before you share anything. Then we review two years of financials, your license and insurance, and your customer mix.

  3. 3

    Growth plan and terms

Together we write a five-year plan: trucks, hires, facility, marketing, and channels. Our investment and ownership terms follow from that plan.

  4. 4

    Close and get to work

Investment is made into your existing licensed company so your DPOR license and customer contracts are undisturbed. Then we start executing.

Questions Owners Ask Us

Straight answers to the things every owner wants to know before picking up the phone.

No. This is a growth investment, not a buyout. You keep operating control of the day-to-day and a meaningful ownership stake. The size of our stake depends on the capital the growth plan needs, and it is negotiated with you, not imposed.

No. You know your trade, your customers, and your crews. We bring capital, hiring, marketing, facilities, and builder relationships, and we sit beside you on the growth plan. We are not looking to replace an owner.

They are the reason we are interested. Growth capital means more trucks and more work for the people you already have, plus the hiring help to add the next crew. We run a W-2 model and expect the same of our partners.

Yes. We sign a mutual NDA before you share any financials, and nothing you tell us is shared with anyone outside our review. Your customers, employees, and competitors will not learn you are talking to us unless you choose to tell them.

It depends on the plan. Some companies need a second shop and six trucks; others need a sales team and an advertising budget. We size the investment to the plan and structure it so your license, contracts, and bank relationships stay intact.

Hampton Roads housing is older than the national median, with most of Virginia Beach built before 1990, so HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and exterior replacement demand is steady and local. These are also the trades where well-run companies attract serious buyers at scale.

Tell us anyway. The $1M to $5M range is where we believe we add the most, but we would rather hear from a strong $800K shop or a $6M shop than miss a good fit over a line on a page.

Operators, not a fund. Second-generation Hampton Roads contractor. Decades of fixer-upper construction and several other businesses run along the way. Extensive capital, ready to invest in established local trade companies that want to grow to $10 to $40 million.
